A Family Night Out

oasis_austin_texas_kidsSo many things to catch up on, but I’m just going to skip all that and focus on the now, or I will drive myself crazy and never actually post a single thing. My goal is to feel somewhat a little up to date before it comes time to post this years Pumpkin Patch pictures, because I’m still stressing over the fact that I haven’t posted last years pumpkin patch pictures. Oy vey….what kind of mother am I?! ;)

This is a few days ago, at the Oasis up above Lake Travis. The self proclaimed “Austin Capital of Sunsets”. I’m going to have to agree with that title! They even ring a gong once the sun slips behind the mountains. Not that we got to hear that gong, the kids lasted until about 5 minutes before that happened, so we slipped away before the sun (har har). austin_texas_kids_travis

Watching these kids grow and discover the world and discover their own little personalities is such an adventure. Atlas has such passion for the most random things. Like wearing these rain boots and using his umbrella when it is clearly a beautiful sunny day. Urban with the little words she decides to perfect and say over and over. (Definitely an Urban update coming soon).
And I decided to have a little bit of fun with my phone tripod and made my first time lapse! Bucket list! (watch in FS)
BTW, hold your hats, I’m going to blow you away…..we’ve officially lived in Austin for a year! WOAH.
Up next in crazy unbelievable facts: Urban’s 1st birthday pictures.

Blanket Fort

I’m not sure who had more fun with it…Atlas, Urban, or me. I was pretty devastated when Atlas went all destroyer on it (there were no little babies in there during the destruction).

Austin Adventures

austin_toddler_activity
This weekend we checked out this awesome public park with peacock’s roaming around. It was a beautiful park and a beautiful day. Its interesting how beautiful animals like this just seem to emanate a powerful peace….not necessarily because they are peaceful animals (are they? These ones were just so domesticated)….but because I can’t help but think about God’s joy in creating these things to make this world beautiful.

The park was very “ruin-sey” feeling. Old stone and crumbling walls (that I’m sure have been made safe). There were three or four ponds with huge koi fish (I think that’s what they were….)

Its called the Mayfield Park, you should definitely bring a packed lunch and a book to spend a quiet afternoon there some day if you are in the area. And I’m pretty sure your aloud to feed the birds bread, because we saw other people feeding them.

Mothers Day at Filoli

If you haven’t been and you live in the area….you seriously need to check this place out. It’s a Mansion built by a Gold Miner back in the day, and the mansion is a.ma.zing! But I don’t even know if that’s the coolest part. The really crazy part is the 650 acre gardens! totally unreal.
Then Mike made us what he thought to be all of my favorite foods (pretty much right) guacamole, pizza, steak and potato and bacon and onion shishkabobs, and tator tots wraped in bacon (no I’d never had that before….) and lemon aide. Yum!
P.s. I’m trying this skydrive album thing for the first time…we’ll see how that works out….
