Why Not Talk About Bed Time…
he is smiling that big because he loves those pajamas … seriously :)
-
He’s begun talking in his sleep. His own language, yes, but real blabbering just as if he were awake with the same intonation and energy. Stuff we’ve heard: “mom mom” , giggles, oooooo, blabber blabber.
-
Although I’ve always been a huge believer in the family bed, as of late he has become almost impossible to get a good night’s sleep with. SO MUCH wiggling and kicking!! Just….hold…STILL!
-
Good Habits: I’m so proud of how after he carefully sets down his bedtime bottle, he points towards the bathroom and says either “tee?” (teeth) or “bwuh?” (brush). Brushing his teeth is just about his favorite time of the day darn it.
-
Habits: (good or bad?) I’ve purposely and successfully changed Atlas’ bedtime to a “later than perfect” bed time. We like to go out as a family in the evening, and going to bed at 7pm can screw that up. Not to mention getting up at 6am! So our little guy has been happily trained to go to sleep more like 8:30/9ish, which leaves him waking up more like 8:30ish, sometimes even till 9ish! Thaaaats nice.
Current favorite bedtime story:
discovered on couch. doesn’t big boy #2 (mike) look so happy?
Nigh’ Night
Happy List.
I’ve been seeing these all over the blog realm and they make me happy :) . I’m a list freak so umm ... This feels right.
LATELY IN MY HAPPY
1. blazing through a fun book2. learning something new & awesome in photoshop
3. at the grocery store playing peek-a-b0o with Atlas around EVERY SINGLE corner
4. suddenly getting all into a new past-time/hobby that you don’t really have time for yet its strangely enjoyable and liberating…and realizing that it really doesn’t take as much time once you have it all set up as you thought it would! (umm…in the mood to blog anyone?)
5. enjoying, I mean really enjoying reading the Ensign
6. when Mike gets to work from home on his laptop
7. getting inspired to make something awesome on pinterest. Even if it never happens, I like the feeling…
8. Marshmallow Mateys for dinner
9. car sounds Atlas makes while pushing anything (such as a laundry basket) around
10. eating my 59-grams-of-whole-grain-bagels smothered in cream cheese
make a happy list. and tell me about it. it makes me happy to know my friends are happy. and it will make you happy to remember what you are happy about.
Get Lost in … MAZE RUNNER
edge-of-your-seat-suspense
(do not fear, there are no spoilers here)
Was this a work of literary genius? no
Did I feel an intense connection to the Hero? no
Did I have a hard time putting it down to eat, sleep, or go to the bathroom? YES YES YES!!
GET LOST … In my opinion, that is all that matters. If I were rating Maze Runner based on character development or motive of protagonist, it would not score high. But what I care about when reading genre fiction is genuine entertainment. The book was highly entertaining and left me completely useless to my husband and child for a solid 72 hours. Go get lost.

Sunshine & Tennis Balls
Lunch break:
Foster City
This lovely little stretch along a man made river in foster city is just a block away from Mike’s office.
Of course Atlas’ current favorite toy is a tennis ball we found at the park one day....
There are also Bocce Ball Courts. We played pretend…
Meeting Mike for lunch can be hard, as it means that I will have to move around Atlas’ nap time to make it work. But when baby boy see’s his daddy across the park and little guy starts running, tripping, bouncing, dancing, running away because he doesn’t know what to do with all of his excitement, its an A+ afternoon.
